The Bull Run Restaurant CD Release Party Package is especially perfect for lesser-known performers because The Bull Run Restaurant can provide many services in a custom celebratory package. This may include a place to have a pre-concert party. The biggest advantage is that we provide broad-based PR to Greater Boston and North Central Massachusetts media about the event, so a lesser-known performer will get a lot of free coverage. The Bull Run Restaurant can also coordinate motel space at their affiliated Devens Inn if guests require overnight stay.
A CD Release is an EVENT that The Bull Run Restaurant will coordinate for you, the performer, providing a well-publicized celebration that will help you kick off your recording release. What it is NOT is a regular concert. Contract structure is different. And the responsibilities of the performer are different. Additionally, CD Release Parties can be full of surprises, and are structured and often hosted by the performer.
Because this is not a concert, and The Bull Run Restaurant is taking a chance on the success of the concert to attract an audience, we are not offering a minimum to the performer or band. However, we want it to be fair for both parties, so we are offering a generous 65 percent of the door monies taken in for th concert. We expect the performer to participate highly in getting an audience there. thus having a direct role in their own financial success that evening.
To request a booking, the performer must provide a copy of the CD to be released (if available, or a demo recording or recording of a live concert) to our booking agent for review.
The performer must also provide a photo, and PR and bio information for our booking agent to review.
Send our booking agent email, and he will give you an address on where to send the above items.
PR
The performer provides PR information to our PR coordinator 2 months prior to the CD Release Party date. This should include photos when possible, and advance copies of the new recording so it can be sent to radio stations. You will be asked for numerous copies of your PR photo, and advance print copies of the recording when available. Please have these ready in advance. We are quite successful in getting the media's attention, but require the performer's full cooperation for this to work successfully. (The booking agent will provide information on where to send your PR.) The performer is encouraged to send out their own announcement of the concert to friends and family and any other opportunities they know of. We also hope that you will list the event on your web site if you have one, and set up a link to the Bull Run's website. If you do have a web site, please sent the URL to the booking agent so we can include it on our web site listing of the event. We also expect that if the you have email and snail mail lists that you will send an announcement out to them concerning this event.
Pre-Concert Party
If you would like a pre-concert party, our events coordinator is happy to work with you to arrange a menu for any number of guests. Think of what fun it will be to have some of your friends and family celebrate this special event with you? How about including the other performers on the recording?
Do You Need Us to Provide Sound?
If you require that The Bull Run Restaurant provide your concert with sound, this must be prearranged.
Sales Table
The performer must arrange someone to manage their CD sales table.
|
Design your Concert Set |
Are you going to do two sets with an intermission, or one long set? Please let our booking agent know so he and the crew are well prepared.
No Other Release Parties in the Area
The performer must agree to not have another CD Release Party within the area prior to this event. This, of course, maximizes your audience for the evening.
PR
Our booking agent will work with the performer to suggest a pricing structure for advance and day of show tickets. However, the Bull Run makes the final decision.
Our PR Coordinator will publicize the CD Release Party. (The performer is responsible for getting PR material to our staff 2 months in advance of the concert.) We will be sending PR to radio, print media, as well as listing it on our web site, and sending out information to our email and snail mail lists. We also get concerts listed on various web-based concert listing services.
The performer may offer up to 8 complimentary passes to friends and family, by giving a list of names of the recipients to The Bull Run Restaurant prior to the concert. (There are no paper passes or tickets.)
Based on pre-sales, The Bull Run Restaurant will determine the function room to be scheduled for the concert. The Bull Run Restaurant reserves the right to make the final decision. We know that the room location will affect the sound crew's equipment needs, so we will determine the room in advance. But the performer's sound crew must be in touch with The Bull Run Restaurant about the final decision as late as the day of the show. The biggest factor in determining which room will hold the concert is pre-sales. Again, the room decision is entirely up to The Bull Run Restaurant, and all decisions are final.
If the performer requires it, The Bull Run Restaurant can provide a sound crew for the evening. Our booking agent will coordinate this. The performer is to send it's sound requirements, including number of performers, instruments and what kind, and auxiliary equipment being used, mic requirments and setup, etc., in a timely fashion to the booking agent or sound crew.
The Bull Run Restaurant will provide a stage and lighting. Special lighting options must be discussed with the booking agent.
The performer is free to record the concert if desired. They must provide their own engineer and equipment.
The Bull Run Restaurant will handle the ticket reservations, and sell additional tickets at their outlets, as listed on our web site.
The Bull Run Restaurant can work with the performer to create a pre-concert party for any number of guests of the performer. Menus and costs must be arranged in advance with The Bull Run Restaurant. We can provide appetizers, entrees, desserts, cakes, decorations, etc. For information on menu options, check out our web site.
The Bull Run Restaurant will provide guests with for-sale menu options before the concert, and at intermission. The performer is not to bring their own food or drink unless prearranged with The Bull Run Restaurant.
We will provide tables for your CD sales. (The performer must provide the staff to run it.) We will take no cut on your CD sales if you provide the staff to run the table.
If the concert is viewed as a success by the booking agent of The Bull Run Restaurant, we will offer at a later date an opening or main act concert date to the performer. This is not a guarantee.
