New Guitar Summit
New Guitar Summit got together June 2000 to explore the American Songbook. They offer an entertaining and diverse look into the work of the great guitar masters for an unforgettable jazz, blues and swing event. The show's concept relates back to the earlier "Great Guitars" fashioned by Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd and others.
WC Handy winner Duke Robillard founded and was the original front man for Roomful of Blues. His 75th CD, Explorer, was released last year.
Jay Geils' hard-driving blues and R&B style was a cornerstone of the J. Geils band for over 20 years (remember "Centerfold?"). Now he's becoming a prominent jazz musician.
Gerry Beaudoin formed the critically acclaimed Boston Jazz Ensemble in the 1990's. He is a brilliant all-round guitarist whose unique blend of jazz, swing, and blues suits the Summit's repertoire perfectly.
