Saturday Sept. 8 - Barbara Phaneuf & Michael Johnathon (split bill): Phaneuf is a Kerrville Folk Fest finalist who "shifts easily between 50's style country pop, sprite folk tunes, acoustic swing, & torchy blues ballads" exemplified in her latest CD "Hat Full of Diamonds" (2000). Johnathon is a folk singer-songwriter with a weekly worldwide radio audience of almost 500,000 for "WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour," dedicated to brilliant but unknown artists. $8 in advance, $12 day of show.
Friday, Sept. 21 - Levon Helm & the Barn Burners: Legendary Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer Helm founded Bob Dylan's backing group "The Band". The 5-person Barn Burners play electrifying Delta Blues & include Helm on drums, and daughter Amy on vocals. A new CD is due out soon. Helm's recently republished autobiography charts the highs and lows of his eclectic career, including acting (Coal Miner's Daughter, Feeling Minnesota ...), his battle with throat cancer, and the deaths of two of his friends from The Band. OPENING ACT: Ellsworth & Hicks - 2000 Crossroads Music Award finalists. $16 in advance, $20 day of show.
Saturday, September 22 - Cosy Sheridan & Diane Zeigler (split bill): Sheridan is a musical social satirist, covering such topics as women's struggles, families, aging, & relationships. She's heard frequently on Dr. Demento. The Boston Globe describes her as "wonderfully lively, very funny and enormously amiable..." Zeigler, from Vermont, is a Boston Music Award nominee and has won 6 national songwriting awards - from Sugarbush to Kerrville. Her work is rooted in part in her experiences with death & loss, and a commitment to find hope. She is included on an 80,000-unit CD sampler for Yankee Magazine, compiled by Rounder Records. $8 in advance, $12 day of show.
Friday, Sept. 28 - Murali Coryell: The First 100 people through the door with advance tickets win a free Murali Coryell CD! With biting guitar blues & soulful vocals, this son of jazz great Larry Coryell is making a name for himself in a field of his own. Saturday, September 29 - Bob Martin: Lowell's folk star brings the streets and characters of his historic mill town to life. His 4th album Next to Nothin"(2000) has received national airplay and rave reviews. He has recorded / performed with Bill Morrissey, Merle Haggard, and Cormac McCarthy. $10 in advance, $14 day of show.
