At 21, Steve Forbert left the small Mississippi town he grew up in and traveled north, to become a folk hero in the giant metropolis of New York City. With only a guitar and harmonica, he managed to cause a stir in NYC amongst emerging New Wave artists like Blondie, Talking Heads, and the Sex Pistols.

Jackrabbit Slim, Forbert’s second album, produced the mega-hit "Romeo's Tune". Twenty-two years later, he’s just released a live album recorded in 2000, Live From The Bottom Line, and a new collection of old songs from the New York period, Young, Guitar Days.

Forbert's performances draw from an impressive collection of seventeen albums of material. Humor and insight are a large component of his varied, raw and moving songs.
